From June 7th-10th in Providence, Rhode Island, Netroots Nation will hold its annual conference for activists. According to the organization’s “About Us” page, under the headline “The big picture” (presumably a write up of its mission), it states: ” We amplify progressive voices by providing an online and in-person campus for exchanging ideas and learning how to be more effective in using technology to influence the public debate” . Part of its name– “Netroots” — is a term referring to “populist campaigns and movements sparked, promoted and conducted over the Internet”, the webpage also states. Its “What is the Netroots?” page tells readers to think of Netroots Nation as one big political family, consisting of bloggers, news makers, social justice advocates, labor and organizational leaders, grassroots organizers and online activists. And like any family, of course, “Sometimes they agree; oftentimes they don’t.” But that’s all right, because according to the site, “common threads connect us”.
Apparently, however, those “common threads”– at least in the eyes of its organizers– don’t include figuring out how the laws of physics were defied one morning during an event that continues to shape our nation’s domestic and foreign policies.
Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth (AE911Truth)– an organization that currently represents close to 1700 architects and engineers, as well as nearly 15,000 other signatories of its petition calling for a new investigation into what caused the destruction of the Twin Towers and WTC 7 on 9/11– was recently denied its simple request for a table at this year’s Netroots Nation conference. No explanation was given for the denial, other than their application had been vetoed when it went through Netroots Nation’s political channels.
Though the plus size elephant of the obvious 9/11 official story lie has made itself comfortable in America’s living room over the past decade, with the nation’s political and media establishment nervously tiptoeing around it, dismissing AE911Truth’s mission as “conspiracy theory”– (as so many do of anyone who questions the 9/11 official story)– wouldn’t make sense to anyone who is intellectually honest. AE911Truth does not accuse any person or group of orchestrating the 9/11 attacks, nor does it endorse any political ideology. Instead it focuses on science, and how the government’s official explanation for how three buildings in New York fell on 9/11 doesn’t match up to it. AE911Truth’s founder, Richard Gage, is a San Francisco Bay Area architect, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and in his over two decades of experience has worked on most building construction types, including a number of fire-proofed, steel-framed buildings. He and the rest of the organization’s volunteers know the difference between theory and fact.
That Netroots Nation has chosen to leave AE911Truth outside its fence shows that it’s not in touch with those who it claims to represent, especially its anti-war contingent.
At the United National Anti-War Conference (UNAC) this year in Stamford CT, AE911Truth conducted a statistical survey of the conference’s participants in order to better understand what they knew about the facts behind the destruction of the Twin Towers and WTC 7 on 9/11, as well as 9/11 and its relation to the people in the anti-war movement. The results, as quoted below in the words of AE911Truth volunteer Wayne Coste in his correspondence with a member of Netroots Nation, revealed that:
“*About 50 percent were aware of the evidence presented by Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth.
*35 to 45 percent were unaware of significant basic facts. When asked about specific major points of evidence, a consistent percentage were “uncertain” or did not respond while only tiny percentages disagreed with the evidence discussed by AE911Truth.
*About 90 percent agreed that the “true story of what happened on 9/11 is relevant to today’s Anti-War movement,”.
*About 90 percent disagreed with “9/11 was a long time ago and it no longer has any influence over today’s political environment,”.
*Half of the respondents did not think that raising the destruction of the World Trade Center skyscrapers by means of controlled demolition detracted from other pressing issues; one quarter were unsure, and one quarter thought that the discussion would detract from other issues.
*Two-thirds of the respondents believe that the criminal acts of 9/11 were perpetrated by more than only Islamic fundamentalists; a quarter were uncertain and a small segment agreed with the official indictment of Islamic fundamentalists as the only criminals.”
The work of AE911Truth is supported by numerous professionals, many of whom are featured in the new film 9/11: Explosive Evidence– Experts Speak Out. Netroots Nation has not responded to a request for reconsideration by AE911Truth. Because of this Wayne Coste, who spearheaded the effort to get a table at the event, has launched a movement to “Let the Architects In”. The purpose is to prompt the organizers of the conference to reverse their decision by educating them of the fact that the work of AE911Truth is within America’s mainstream consciousness, and that debate about what really caused the destruction of the Twin Towers and WTC 7 is accepted by the majority of activists that would attend.
“Let the Architects In” is calling on supporters of AE911Truth’s mission to contact Netroots Nation via Twitter, Facebook, or any other means available.

Also, in your communications please consider asking the Netroots Nation organizers to provide Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth with a “courtesy (or reduced cost)” exhibit space in recognition of their oversight. It is long overdue to Let the Architects in!”
9/11 has been the most important event to take place in America during the twenty-first century and its ramification are still being felt a decade later. Because of this, the truth about what really happened on 9/11– in particular what caused WTC 7′s obvious controlled demolition– is the most important issue facing our country today. Thanks to the Internet, information about this terrible event has spread from person to person across the planet, casting light on facts that may have remained largely hidden from the public had their emergence relied solely on mainstream censors. 9/11 Truth is “Netroots” in action, according to Netroots Nation’s definition of the term. It is also “progressive” because the truth about what happened on 9/11 impacts middle class families whose lives and understanding of what America stands for were changed after that day. To deny AE911Truth its place in the ‘family’ of activists using the Internet to reach others at the conference is to turn away from any endorsement of fairness and inclusiveness, and to sever the ‘common threads’ that unite all people seeking to make America a better place.
